A Working Screenwriter
I am a working Korean screenwriter who entered the film industry through selections and nominations by the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), and CJ ENM. My work has been recognized across feature-film screenplays and fiction.
I develop original stories from a project’s first idea through research, writing, revisions, and the shaping of its final form. I take responsibility for the entire process while staying attentive to each project’s purpose, genre, audience, and voice.
What I Write
I write drama and feature screenplays, fiction, and essays. Working across genres and forms, I develop stories and worlds ranging from drama and crime to thrillers, science fiction, and mystery and diverse narratives.
My work is rooted in Korean culture, people, food, places, and the daily life behind them. I look at the relationships, context, contradictions, humor, affection, and realities within them, while considering how Korean experiences can grow beyond one place and reach audiences across languages and cultures.
This is my record of Korea, and it is also how I develop stories that can connect with people from different backgrounds.
Current Focus
I am currently working on two feature-film projects as a writer: 《Kimbap with Ramen, That’s All You Need》 and 《Rupture》, both of which I wrote as original story and screenplay. Both projects are being pursued for international co-production, financing, and co-development.
《Kimbap with Ramen, That’s All You Need》 has been adapted and localized from the Korean screenplay into English as part of its international co-production process, preserving its cultural nuances and humor while making sure the English text reads naturally.
《Rupture》 is also being prepared for international co-production, financing, and co-development, and its English adaptation is currently in progress.
My full body of work, including drama series and feature films in development, is on the [Screenplays & Drama] page.
Collaborations
Working in both Korean and English, I’m open to film collaborations, story development, co-development, and international co-production.
Beyond the Script
Working across Korean and English, I’m available for projects involving Korean content localization, cultural adaptation, story and content editing, linguistic quality assurance, proofreading, and creative writing.
My hands-on experience includes adapting my own Korean feature screenplay into English for an international co-production. If a project calls for this kind of work, I’m open to hearing about it.
Background
Before screenwriting, I worked in client-facing roles, including student coaching and counseling, as well as guest and VIP services at international luxury hotels. Those experiences taught me to read what people mean, not only what they say. They continue to shape how I write, edit, and work with stories.
